Summary

How does Digital Twin modeling work?

The first step when using Omi is 3D modeling. Our 3D Artists create a custom Digital Twin based on your physical product to achieve an accurate and realistic result, reproducing its appearance, textures, reflections, transparency, dimensions, and other details.

What do you need to order a Digital Twin?

Step 1: Files of your product’s graphic elements

These elements can include decorations, labels, logos, screen prints, or other graphics present on your physical product.

You need to provide us with vectorized .AI or .PNG files containing these elements. The files should include the fonts used and all graphic elements (images, logos, etc.) present on your product.

Here is a step-by-step guide to obtaining these files.

Step 2: Ship your physical product or provide photos

You will need to either send your physical product to our UK or Paris offices or provide photos of your product from all angles, as shown below.

For your information, once your products have been modeled, you have two options for getting them back:

  • Pick them up at our office by appointment only.

  • Send a Chronopost return label with office pick-up via chat or email to your CSM.

⚠️ If your order has been modeled for more than three months, we may have removed your physical products from storage.

3D Modeling stages

3D modeling takes a maximum of two weeks from receipt of the complete order.

  1. Create your Omi account.

  2. Place an order in the Digital Twins section and send us your physical products.

  3. Review your Digital Twin and provide feedback. You have two revision rounds per Digital Twin.

  4. Validate your Digital Twin and use it to create scenes and renders in Omi.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to model my Digital Twin?

The price of the Omi license depends on the number of Digital Twins and their complexity.

Do I have to send my physical products?

You do not always need to send your physical products. This depends on their complexity and size. If you’re unsure, request a demo so one of our experts can provide more detailed information.

How long does it take to model my Digital Twin?

Your Digital Twin is modeled by hand and created specifically for your needs. This requires dedicated modeling time from one of our 3D Artists.

Including revision rounds, it takes an average of two weeks to receive your Digital Twins for an order of 1 to 30 Digital Twins.

Can I modify my Digital Twins?

Yes. Each Digital Twin includes two rounds of revisions for feedback and modification requests.

Here’s an article explaining how to provide feedback and request revisions.

Can I import my own 3D models?

In some cases, the Omi 3D team can use your existing 3D modeling files as a reference for the modeling process.

However, your files cannot be used as-is and may need to be reworked. They must meet specific technical and realism requirements, which will be communicated in the Omi app or via our chat.

If you’d like to find out more, you can request an Omi Demo directly through the Omi chat, which is open five days a week.
