Digital Twin Validation: checks before approval

Quickly review the essentials to confidently validate your Digital Twin.

Written by Laurie Felicio

If you'd like a 3D Artist to model your Digital Twin in 3D, go to this article to find out how to place an order.

Step 1: Essential Digital Twin checks

  1. General shape
The Digital Twin shape visually matches the physical product.

  2. Overall appearance
Check consistency of colors, textures, and gloss levels.

  3. Labels and graphic elements
All provided elements are present and correctly positioned on the labels.

Step 2: Detailed visual review.

1. Interact with your Digital Twin from different angles.

  • Compare the render with your real product (shape, proportions, overall perception).

  • Check consistency of liquids, reflections, and contrast.

Note: Perception may vary depending on camera angle and lighting used in Omi. These settings are adjustable and do not always require feedback.

2. Check label layout and readability. Ensure all graphic elements are complete and correctly aligned.

3. Review colors: saturation, contrast, and overall consistency.

Caution: Rendering differences may come from the printing material (plastic, glass, etc.). The same color may vary depending on the surface.

4. Examine the material: The material (plastic, glass, metal) should appear consistent. Textures should look natural and realistic.

Please note: Reflections and shadows depend on lighting and camera. They can be adjusted directly in Omi.

5. Be aware that label colors come directly from your file.

If you notice differences compared to your physical product, this may be due to the printing material. Colors can vary depending on whether they are applied to plastic, glass, or cardboard.

The same Pantone color will not look exactly the same across different materials.

This can be adjusted on request, as long as you provide a single reference for the 3D artist to follow: either the physical product or the Pantone value.

Step 3: Validate or give feedback
