This guide gives you an overview of everything you can do in the Omi Studio: placing and controlling your objects, choosing the right format, customizing backgrounds, setting up the camera and lights, using the Library and creating videos with the Timeline.

Discover the Studio
Left-hand menu: add
Objects(your Digital Twins and Library accessories),LightsandCameras.Right-hand panel: adjust the settings of whatever is selected (object, background, ground, light or camera).
Bottom toolbar: change the ratio of your scene, switch to video mode and access display options.
1. Control your Digital Twins and objects
Digital Twins and Library accessories are all controlled with the same tools. To add one, open Objects in the left-hand menu, choose the Products or Library tab, then click an element or drag it straight into the scene.
Quick tools
Click an object to display its quick tools:
Move: drag the crossed arrows to move the object around the scene (or use the arrow keys, with Shift to go faster).
Duplicate: creates a copy with all the same settings.
Swap: replaces the object with another one while keeping its position, orientation and scale.
Lock: prevents the object from being moved, edited or deleted.
Delete: removes the object (the Backspace and Delete keys work too).
Right-hand panel
Fine-tune the object with Rotate, Tilt, Pivot, Levitate, Scale and Visibility, either with the mouse or by typing a value.
Working with several objects
Hold Shift and click several objects to move or edit them together.
Center, Align horizontally and Distribute evenly position objects in relation to one another.
Link several objects into a bundle you can save and reuse in other scenes.

2. Resize your scene
The ratio of your scene determines the dimensions of your final render. Set it as soon as you create your scene so you can build your composition accordingly.
Click the ratio in the toolbar at the bottom of the scene.
Choose the
Webtab (social media, eCommerce, Amazon…) or thePrinttab (paper, outdoor, kakemono…).Select a ratio: the workspace resizes automatically.
You can also create and save your own custom ratios.
⚠️ Print ratios require the Advanced Export option.

3. Customize backgrounds and ground
Click the background of your scene to open its settings in the right-hand panel. Depending on the Template, you can use:
3D background: a color that reacts to the Studio lighting (HEX or RGB codes, including your brand colors).
Flat color: an exact color, unaffected by the lighting.
Textures: advanced materials whose colors you can adjust, or predefined textures, with rotation, position and scale settings.
Image: a 360° image, a royalty-free photo from Pexels or your own image (up to 500 MB).
Video: upload your own
.mp4video (video option required).Transparent: in the
Advancedsection, make the wall transparent and turn shadows on or off.
On some Templates, you can also click the ground to change its color or texture. Apply the Transparent texture to make it invisible.

4. Set up your camera
The camera defines the viewing angle of your render. Open the Cameras tab in the left-hand menu, choose a Default camera or a Preset, hover to preview it and click to apply it.
Adjusting the camera
With the mouse: right-click and drag to pivot around the scene, use the wheel (or two fingers on a trackpad) to zoom, and the icons around the scene for sideways and vertical movements.
In the right-hand panel: set precise values for the Position (vertical, sideways, zoom) and Orientation (horizontal, vertical, tilt).
Advanced settings: Look At locks the camera on a point of the scene, and Focus controls the depth of field.
Save this presetlets you reuse your camera settings in other scenes.
Work view: move freely around the scene without changing your camera angle, using the Hand icon in the bottom toolbar. 👉 Learn more about the work view
⚠️ Camera settings are not available in scenes created via ProductDrop / AI.

5. Light your scene
Lighting sets the mood of your scene and brings out the materials of your product. Open Lights in the left-hand menu and choose from several categories:
Packshots: product lighting optimized by material (metallic, matte, transparent…).
Neutral, Warm and Cold lifestyle: realistic ambiances with different color tones.
Masks: decorative shadow effects (leaves, shutters, water reflections…).
Legacy lights: historical presets that are still available.
Customizing a light
In the right-hand panel, adjust the Turn, Incline, Intensity and Color of the light, add Effects (flare, vignette…), change the Atmosphere (HDRI) to modify reflections, and save your setups as Presets.
Going further
Show light origin (bottom toolbar) displays where the light comes from. It does not appear in the render.
Light objects (
Objectstab of the Lights menu) emit their own light: ideal for creating reflections on your products.Animated lights are available in video mode.

6. Add accessories from the Omi Library
The Omi Library gives you access to over 7,000 3D Assets to stage your products, with new ones added every week by our 3D team.
Open
Objectsin the left-hand menu, then theLibrarytab.Search by keyword, browse the collections (Plants, Podiums, Furniture, Christmas…) or sort by date added.
Click an Asset to add it, or drag and drop it to place it exactly where you want.
Bookmark the Assets you use often: they appear in your
Favoritestab.Some Assets can be customized with different colors and textures.
Library Assets are controlled with the same tools as your Digital Twins (see part 1).

7. Video option: animate with the Timeline
⚠️ The video option is available only to clients who have subscribed to this feature. If you are interested, contact your Account Manager or reach out to Support via chat or at support@omi.so.
Click Video in the bottom toolbar to switch to video mode. You can then play your animation, move frame by frame, choose the video duration, switch between work view and camera view, or generate a photo render at any point with Snapframe.
Click the arrow on the right of the toolbar to open the Timeline, where you can:
Animate products and objects: select an object, then pick an animation in the menu at the bottom right.
Animate the camera and the lights: open the
Animatedtab of the Cameras or Lights menu.Coordinate your animations: shorten a track by dragging its ends and move it along the Timeline.
Combine several animations on the same product or camera with Add an animation.
Play an animation backward from the track's three-dot menu.
💡 An animation always plays in full: its speed adapts to the length of the video (it will be twice as slow on an 8-second video as on a 4-second one).
