Once your render is generated, the Compositing tool allows you to make edits directly to the final image without having to modify the 3D scene. This interface includes color settings, filters, as well as layout tools to crop the visual, add text, shapes, or overlay external images.
Accessing compositing settings
From the Renders page (In your workspace or from a project).
Click on a render to view it in full size.
Once in this detailed view, click on "
Customize render" in the right-hand menu.Select "
Edit visual".
Interface overview
The Compositing editor is organized into 3 areas:
In the center, your render is displayed on a workspace where you can freely zoom in and out to navigate your composition.
On the left, the assets panel: this is where you add elements to your composition (images and text).
On the right, the settings panel: it adapts to the selected element to display its properties.
At the top of the editor, you'll also find the Undo / Redo buttons, a Resize shortcut for quick access to document resizing, a zoom selector (for display only, with no impact on export), as well as the Save and Export buttons in the top right corner.
💡 Each settings section in the right-hand panel has an eye icon (
) that lets you quickly show or hide the corresponding effect (Stroke, Shadow, Blur…) without deleting the setting.
1. Document settings
By default, when no element is selected, the right-hand panel displays the Document settings, that is, the overall page containing your render and all added elements.
Format
Click Select under Format to resize your document. You can:
Choose the unit: Pixels, Inches or Millimeters.
Set the resolution (in DPI) if working in inches or millimeters.
Enter the width and height values in the chosen unit.
Below, more than 50 presets are available for various distribution channels: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn… as well as print formats (ISO Standard Print, North American Print, etc.).
Bleed Margin
Set up a bleed margin if your visual is intended for print.
Page settings (the render)
By clicking on your render in the center of the document, the right-hand panel displays the Page settings (the render image itself).
💡 The Show in Export option at the bottom of the panel lets you choose whether this element appears in the final export. If you uncheck it on the render itself, you will get an empty image on export.
Fill (Crop)
The Crop tool lets you crop your render directly in the editor.
Crop Area
Fill Mode
Three fill modes are available:
Crop: crops the image, focusing on a specific area. You can move the image within the frame in any direction to choose the visible area (for example, if you switch from a square render to a vertical format, you can slide horizontally to show more of the left or right).
Cover: crops the image while always fully covering the width or height. Movement is limited to a single axis.
Fit: displays the entire image within the chosen dimensions. If the ratio doesn't match (for example a rectangular format for a square image), empty bands appear on the sides.
Straighten
A slider that rotates the image between -45° and +45° to correct a slight tilt.
Turn & Mirror
3 buttons:
90° rotation to the left
Vertical mirror (flip top to bottom)
Horizontal mirror (flip left to right)
Scale, X Offset and Y Offset
Manually adjust the position of the image within its frame:
Scale: as a percentage
X Offset and Y Offset: in pixels, for precise movement on each axis
Crop presets
At the bottom of the section, you'll find crop presets for various channels (social media, print formats…).
In the top right corner of the panel, the Reset button sets all values back to zero.
Stroke
Add an outline around your render.
Color: in HEX code
Width: in pixels
Line style: Solid, Dashed, Dashed Round, Long Dashed, Long Dashed Round, Dotted
In the Advanced section:
Position: inside or outside the render
Join: defines the corner style, classic (Miter), rounded (Round) or 45° (Bevel)
Appearance
The Appearance section groups four categories of visual effects applicable to your render.
Adjustments
Correct the color and lighting of your image with classic photo editing parameters: Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks, Temperature, Gamma, Clarity, Exposure and Sharpness.
You can save your settings as presets to quickly reapply them to other renders. Presets are available to all members of your organization.
Filters
Apply a color filter to instantly change the mood of your visual. Each filter has an intensity slider to fine-tune the effect.
Effects
Creative effects that go beyond color and apply visual transformations to your image. Each effect offers its own adjustment sliders for precise control.
