Summary

How does 3D modelling of your products work?

The first step of using Omi is 3D Modelling, where our 3D Artists model your custom product for an ultra-realistic result that is 100% faithful to your physical product (appearance, textures, reflections, transparency, dimensions, etc.).

What do you need to order your 3D model?

Step 1: Files of your product's graphic elements

Most of the time, these elements are a decoration, a label, a logo, a screen print, etc. present on your physical product.

You need to provide us with vectorised .AI or .PNG files of these elements. The vectorised files must contain your fonts in your file and the graphic elements (images, logos, etc.) present on your product.

Here is a step-by-step guide to obtaining these files.

Step 2: Ship your physical product or photos of your product

You will need to send your physical products to our UK or Paris offices, or photos of your product from all angles, as shown below.

For your information, once your products have been modelled, you have 2 options:

  • Pick them up at our office (by appointment only)

  • Send a Chronopost return slip with pick-up at the office via chat or e-mail to your CSM.

⚠️ If your order has been modelled for more than three months, we have removed your products from stock.

3D Modelling stages

3D modelling takes a maximum of two weeks from receipt of the complete order.

  1. Create your Omi account

  2. Place an order in the Product area and send us your products

  3. Give us feedback on your model (you have 2 feedback passes per model)

  4. Validate your model and stage your product on Omi over and over again!

The answers to the most frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to 3D model my product?

The price of the Omi license depends on the number of products and their complexity.

Do I have to send my products?

You don't always have to send your products physically, but it depends on how complex or large they are. Don't hesitate to request a demo so that one of our experts can give you more detailed information.

How long does it take to model my product in 3D?

Your product is modelled by hand and is 100% made-to-measure. This work requires dedicated 3D modelling time by one of our 3D Artists. Including your returns, it takes an average of 2 weeks to receive your 3D models for an order of 1 to 30 products.

Do I have the right to modify my 3D models?

Of course you can! Each of your 3D models includes two rounds of revision. Here's an article explaining how to give feedback and revisions.

Can I import my own 3D models?

In some cases, the Omi 3D team can use your 3D modelling files as a base for your modelling process. However, even if the team uses your modelling files as a reference, they will have to be reworked, as they cannot be used as they stand. Your files must respect specific technical criteria and a certain level of realism, which will be specified in the Omi app or via our chat.

If you'd like to find out more, don't hesitate to ask for an Omi Demo directly on our Omi chat, which is open 5 days a week.
