ProductDrop: Use GenAI or Your Own Photos to Create Scenes

Discover how to place your 3D products in real environments.

Written by Sunil Vyas

You must ensure that you hold the necessary rights to use generative AI models. Omi cannot be held liable for unauthorized use. For more details, please refer to our Terms of Use.

ProductDrop allows you to place your 3D products into realistic environments whether uploaded, generated, or modified using GenAI.

No matter which method you use, ProductDrop automatically adjusts the lighting, shadows, reflections, and surfaces to create a consistent and realistic render.

You can then freely move your products, add accessories, or adjust scale, just like in any other scene.

How to Use ProductDrop?

From your Omi workspace, click ProductDrop in the left-hand menu.

You’ll then choose from several methods to generate your environment.

The Upload and Firefly option on ProductDrop is only available to clients who have subscribed to this feature. If you are interested in this option, feel free to contact your account manager or reach out to support via chat or email at support@omi.so

Finalizing your scene in the Studio

After clicking Generate, a short loading time (about 1 minute) will occur before entering the Studio.

Once in the Studio, you can:

  • Move products and accessories freely

  • Adjust their size and position

  • Add other 3D elements as needed

⚠️ You won’t be able to adjust the camera or lighting, as these are automatically calibrated to match the generated scene.

When your composition is ready, click Generate at the top right of the Studio to create your final render.

ProductDrop settings

Configure the default settings used for your generations by clicking the settings button ( icon on the right), you can:

  • Set the default scene name ("ProductDrop Scene" by default)

  • Enable AI enhancement (recommended)

💡 AI enhancement improves the quality of the generated image, especially when it comes to reflections and lighting. In return, each image is unique and not repeatable. High resolution and print are disabled in this mode.

Confirm your settings by clicking Apply.

ProductDrop history

You can access the history of your ProductDrop scene generations by clicking the history button ( icon on the right).

A page opens with a table listing your generations. For each one, you'll find:

  • Status

  • Author

  • Template (Prompt, Upload, etc.)

  • Product used

  • Input: the prompt used, the uploaded image, etc.

  • Outputs: direct access link to the generated scene

  • Generation time

  • Date

Which AI model to choose?

The choice of model influences the style of the generated scene: lighting, atmosphere, composition.

Flux 2 Pro & Seedream 4.5: photorealistic environments. Suitable for most use cases.

Qwen Image: allows you to integrate text into the scene (poster, sign, mention in the background).

Recraft V4 Pro: more creative, less photorealistic results.

💡 Not sure which to pick? Run several generations with different models: the 3 previews displayed will give you a quick overview of each one's style.
