Difficulty: Easy

Duration: 5 minutes

We will learn how to :

1 : Create a scene

2 : Place your product and change the background colour

3: Place accessories around the product

4: Change the lighting in your scene

5: Generate a photo-realistic rendering

And as a bonus, we'll also look at how to edit your photo directly on Omi!

Step 1: Choose the Two Planes template

  • From the Omi home page, click on New Project in the top right-hand corner.

  • On the next screen, click on New Scene

  • Choose the Two Planes template (consisting of a floor and a wall) and name it

Step 2: Position your product and change the background colour

You are now in the 3D Studio where you can stage your product

  • Go to the Products tab on the left and choose your product

  • Move your product to the centre of the stage by clicking and holding your mouse over it

  • To change the background colour, click on the wall to access its properties and change its colour on the colour wheel in the menu that appears on the left of the screen.

  • Repeat the same action on the floor. For your first renderings, we recommend that you apply the same colour to the floor and the wall by copying and pasting the colour code from the menu on the left.

  • Click on Preview in the top left-hand corner to make sure the colours are right for you.

Step 3: Add and position accessories

  • In the left-hand menu, click on Library

  • Find the accessory of your choice and add it to your scene by clicking on it

  • Place the accessories around your product

  • You can select and move several objects at the same time by holding down the shift key and clicking on the props you want to move.

  • Click Preview in the top left-hand corner to make sure that the props and their positions suit you.

Step 4: Modify the lighting

  • In the left-hand menu, click on Lights

  • Choose the lighting of your choice. In this video we're using the Light Mask - Eucalyptus 2

  • Click Preview in the top left-hand corner to make sure that the lighting and shadows in your scene suit you.

Step 5: Generate your rendering

  • Click on the Generate button in the top right-hand corner to launch the final rendering

  • Click on Confirm to start rendering your photo

  • Wait a few minutes to receive your photo (no need to wait on Omi, a notification will be sent to your email)

  • Once the rendering is complete, you can upload your photo to your Project: click on your Project then on Photo on the next screen, and under the Photo in question click on the three little dots ... then on Upload

Tips: Edit your photo directly on Omi

  • Click on the 3 little dots on your photo and then on Edit.

  • This window will allow you to make modifications to the photo, such as changing its contrast for example.

  • Once you've finished editing your photo, export it using the button on the left of the window.
